Apple looking to ditch pass code's for new image recognition system

Incoming reports have suggested that Apple will soon be ditching the current 4 digit passcode system on iOS devices, replacing it with their newly patented image recognition software.

This was brought into the light by US Patent and Trademark Office, this week when Apple's patent for the system was finally processed.

Apple feel that their current pass code system is now too easily approachable and accessible for hackers and thieves.

They seem to be wanting to take a different approach to unlocking content, not by the standard 4 digit pass codes, however something completely different, like Facebook's approach, by prompting the user to identify their friends pictures on their profiles, and if they identified them successfully, they will then have access to their account.

This is something Apple could implement which would definately change the way we secure our phones and make them much harder to be accessed by thieves/hackers. Especially when a GUI is involved more heavily than just a simple number pad.
